let's get to know each other

Hi, I'm Keith Malda

Wedding Photographer Keith Malda and his Labrador/Golden Retriever, Lucy in a field on a beautiful sunny day.

I'm a wedding photographer, from the London and Kent border. I'm the one on the right. The gorgeous girl on the left is Lucy and she is the only thing I love more than taking photos!

Your wedding had better be epic or cool enough to tempt me away from taking Lucy on an adventure, chasing squirrels (her, not me. I'm waaay too slow to catch squirrels.... trust me!)

I love photography.

Or to be more accurate, I love moments. I love those moments that we all have in our lives that you just want to preserve forever because you know it's one of the happiest moments in your entire life. That's not necessarily always at weddings. It's those moments with your school friends where you laugh so hard at your in-jokes that a little bit of wee comes out. It's those deep late night conversations that make you see the world a little bit different. It's those moments where you're at a concert seeing your favourite band, playing your favourite song, and you just know that you are in THE best place on the entire planet at that very moment.

Weddings absolutely deliver when it comes to moments. Moments when you have different circles of friends and family all in the same place at the same time, perhaps never to all be under the same roof again. Moments when the Registrar accidentally calls your groom by their Dad's name and all of your guests collapse with laughter (I photographed that wedding!). Moments when you're crying listening to a speech about you, and then half hour later you're crying tears of joy and laughter as you cut epic dance moves with your mates in your wedding dress. Weddings are bloody brilliant.

Being there to capture those moments with my camera is genuinely one of the biggest privileges I think there is.

It's because of my love of those once in a lifetime moments that my photography style is to get in up close and personal with my camera, to capture all of the emotions and freeze them in time for you to look back on, and for generations of younger yous to look back on (and judge us for how we dressed in the 2020's!). I love bold and colourful photographs, as well as dramatic and stylish black and white photographs.

Although I rarely enter photography competitions (the best validation for me is seeing my Brides and Grooms reactions when they receive their wedding photos), I've been very lucky and proud to win some awards for my photography, including Street Photography, which is a bit of a hobby of mine. It feels so cringe to mention these things, but I am told that I should sing loudly about these things and get over myself!

If I'm not shooting a wedding, you can probably still find me with a camera in my hand as I take my little Lucy (Mum is a Lab and Dad is a Golden Retriever) on adventures. She's practically a model at this point, always posing for the camera in exchange for a treat!

I really love photographing dogs. Dogs are the best aren't they? Who hasn't had a rubbish day made infinitely better by having a four legged buddy dropping their favourite ball at your feet, tilting their head to one side and wagging their tail so hard you think they might do a helidogter impression!

I'm single with no little ones (apart from Lucy) so I love being able to get photos of my brilliant crazy little nephews, and the most recent addition to the family... my very first niece!

You'll likely find me listening to music, an audiobook or a podcast at any given hour, or watching some comedy or the latest series of The Traitors (OMG, stop searching for a wedding photographer and go and watch it right now on iPlayer!). I'm a massive reader so even if you don't want to book me as your wedding photographer, feel free to use my contact form to just recommend some cool books for me to read/listen to (audiobooks count as reading and I will die on that hill!!)

OK, this is starting to sound like a dating profile where I'm trying to meet someone I can have a wedding with, which is almost accurate because I want to have a wedding with YOU, so what are you waiting for? Get down on one knee and propose to me and ask if I will take your hand photos in marriage!

Check my availability!

I limit the amount of weddings that I photograph each year so I can keep things personal.
